New Technologies, Court Reforms and Changes to the Way Lawyers Practice

ON DEMAND

Moderators:
Sarah Coderre & Adam Norget (CBA Alberta Board of Directors)

Speaker: Jordan Furlong (Law21)

Originally presented on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Video conferencing by Zoom and WebEx. Remote court appearances. Remote signing. In March, the practice of law was forced to change significantly and swiftly by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, many of the changes that have since been implemented are ones that have been called for by some members of the profession by many years.

Jordan Furlong is one of those who has called for such changes, and in his role as a global legal market analyst he helps firms build sustainable practices that can roll with the punches and predict future development. Jordan is joined by CBA Alberta board members Sarah Coderre and Adam Norget to discuss new technologies, court reforms and changes to the way that lawyers practice, and which changes resulting from the pandemic should stay and which should go.
