When Family Law and Child Protection Law Intersect

This will be an informal discussion of issues that arise when a family law matter intersects with involvement by Alberta Child and Family Services.  Topics will include three different ways to obtain the Alberta Child and Family Services file; why you would want it; and how it is entered as evidence; or how you can use it in other proceedings.  We will also discuss how an existing family law order is affected by involvement by Alberta Child and Family Services, and what happens to the existing family law order when that involvement terminates.

This meeting won't be recorded; it will solely be accessible through the live webinar.

SPEAKERS

The Honourable Justice G.L.M. Benns (Alberta Court of Justice)
Erika Gordon (Lawyer, Daunais McKay & Harms)
Elizabeth Iredale (Director, Family and Surrogate Court Litigation Team, Alberta Justice)
