Synopsis

Interveners are having a rough go. In recent decisions, the SCC and BCCA have reproached them for exceeding their proper role, raising new questions about how to define that role in an age where interventions have become fixtures of appellate practice.

What is the state of the law? When are interventions most effective? And how can lawyers best integrate them into their practices? Justice Harvey GrobermanLindsay Waddell, and Connor Bildfell address these questions.
