ABOUT THIS HYBRID CONFERENCE

APRIL 12, 2024: 8:30am-12:30pm (PT)
UBC Robson Square, The University of British Columbia, 800 Robson St | Vancouver BC | V6Z 3B7 Canada

Lawyers, judges and the legal system have recently been under criticism. Elected officials are expressing their views about the outcome of court cases and the conduct of counsel through the media. Meanwhile, the provincial government has proposed significant changes to how the profession is regulated. And, the law society has been increasingly clear that their mandate is the protection of the public interest not the protection of lawyers' interests.

This half-day hybrid conference offers a unique opportunity to engage with members of the Bench, Bar and Government on matters of judicial and lawyer independence. Learn more about the recent developments and ask your questions.
