Agenda
In 2015, approximately $2.6B was raised in real estate crowdfunding offerings outside of Canada, primarily in the US. The majority of funds raised were for residential property development with strong growth seen for commercial projects. Crowdfunding is relatively new to Canada. This talk will provide attendees with a strong understanding of the laws applicable to real estate crowdfunding, and how crowdfunding may fit into their client's financial and business plans. Attendees walk away with a checklist of the key legal and other considerations before undertaking a crowdfunding campaign, such as legal due diligence, deal structuring, regulatory compliance, choosing a portal, elements of a successful campaign, and execution.
