Style and Substance – Preparing and Presenting Expert Economic Evidence in Competition Law Cases

May 22, 2018
Online

The CBA Competition Law Section's Competition Litigation Committee and the Economics and Law Committee present:

Style and Substance – Preparing and Presenting
Expert Economic Evidence in Competition Law Cases

May 22, 2018 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Teleconference

A properly prepared expert is critical to successfully mounting or defending a competition law claim.  The challenge of presenting expert evidence is even more pronounced when it comes to economic experts, who must be able to articulate complex theories in a manner that can be understood by judges who may not have a great deal of experience in economics.

This session draws on the knowledge of litigators and experts, and will provide participants with best practices drawn from experience before US and Canadian courts and from the Competition Tribunal, in contested hearings.

Moderator
Nikiforos Iatrou, WeirFoulds LLP

Speakers
Andrew Borrell, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP
Graeme Hunter, NERA Economic Consulting
Randall Hofley, Competition Bureau Legal Services
