In order to avoid undue liability, this program will highlight best practices and common pitfalls of which practitioners, particularly those in sole or small practices, should be cognizant. The program will emphasize the following:
- Managing risk, planning for contingencies and managing client expectations
- Time management in preparing for trial, training and delegating staff, and using effective time management and practising with civility
- Lessons to be learned through a historical analysis of John A. Macdonald's legal career and practice
