In this light and lively talk, renowned civil litigator Alan Lenczner will address a number of related issues in the administration of justice today: the ever-escalating time and money it takes to get to a trial to resolve a dispute in Ontario, particularly Toronto; "litigation" lawyers (and judicial appointees) who have never run a trial; how to deal with counsel who, by bending or breaking the rules at every opportunity, are all too happy to delay matters for months and years with motions and adjournments; and the judges and masters who seem unable or unwilling to stop them. There may be some war stories, some humour, but also some serious consideration given to these important issues.
