Still Human: Mistakes and Apologies in Legal Practice (YLD)
Sole, Small Firm & General Practice, Young Lawyers' Division | Original Program Date: September 16, 2013

Mistakes happen in the practice of law and while your first response may be one of panic and fear that your career is at an end, that is rarely the case.  This video will focus on the importance of acknowledging mistakes and on the ‘what now?’ when you realize a mistake has been made.  How do you tell your client?  What are your obligations to your firm? What do you have to report, to whom and when? And finally, learn why it's important to keep it all in perspective and accept that despite all of your vigilance and hard work, mistakes do and will happen.

*Learn why it’s important to acknowledge mistakes quickly and what you must do to protect your firm, your client and yourself.
