The Consent & Capacity Board (“CCB”) deals with a unique set of hearings under the Mental Health Act, the Health Care Consent Act, the Personal Health Information Protection Act, the Substitute Decisions Act and the Mandatory Blood Testing Act. Our expert panel, including one member of the CCB and a lawyer who regularly appears before the CCB, will clarify:

  • The role of the CCB
  • The type of cases that appear before the CCB
  • Tips on advocacy to the CCB, including how files are referred
  • Review recent decisions from the CCB, including the highly anticipated Rassouli decision from the Supreme Court of Canada.
