OBA Young LAWyers Division (East) PROGRAM | Original Program Date: November 22, 2017

The Cannabis Act, Bill C-45, proposes a strict legal framework for controlling the production, distribution, sale and possession of cannabis across Canada. This new legislation will usher in some of the biggest regulatory changes Canada has seen in the last decade and will likely have wide-ranging impacts on nearly every area of the law. In particular, the Act aims to deter and reduce criminal activity, restrict youth access, and protect public health.

Join us for a high level introduction to this new legislation, followed by a panel discussion of key issues arising out of the proposed Act and the ways in which it may impact your practice. Stay for a networking reception to meet key contacts and industry pioneers.
