OBA Environmental Law PROGRAM | Original Program Date: December 11, 2018

What follows from the Ontario Government’s repeal of the Cap & Trade program?

Join us to unpack the uncertainties arising from O. Reg. 386/18; Bill 4, and The Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018, including:

  • Notice and consultation: Ontario’s Environmental Bill of Rights
  • Perspective of the Environmental Commissioner Office
  • Legal challenges: their status and potential outcomes
  • Is there a potential for Crown liability?
  • Forthcoming climate change plan and targets

Looking beyond provincial borders, the program will also examine:

  • Ontario’s Constitutional Challenge of the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change
  • What the Federal Climate Change Regime, in effect January 1, 2019, will mean for Ontario

Attend this program and explore how Ontario and Canada will tackle one of the most important environmental issues of our time.
