2018 International Women's Day PROGRAM | 5:30 PM to 7:15 PM

From mainstream media to social media, women are speaking out across platforms with a message that is transcending countries, professions and identities. The #MeToo campaign is giving power to women who are survivors of sexual abuse and bringing their abusers to the fore.

Join the Law Society, the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), the Women’s Law Association of Ontario, and the Women Lawyers Forum of the OBA for a panel discussion about contextualizing the #MeToo movement in our legal workplaces. The discussion will explore how different voices are engaged or absent from the conversation, how we can advance a preventative approach that addresses underlying systemic factors and support survivors in a way that puts procedural fairness and due process within reach.
