The Municipal Law Section is pleased to invite you to a timely dinner program on November 15, 2018. Our speakers will provide a debrief on interesting election and post-election matters including:

  • A discussion on Bill 5, Better Local Government Act, 2018 and the Superior Court and Court of Appeal decisions that followed
  • Ranked ballot voting and London’s experience as the first municipality in Canada to adopt the system
  • Municipal accountability matters raised by the Offices of the Integrity Commissioners
  • Other matters of interest stemming from the recent municipal elections
  • Challenging municipal election results and various legal challenges to municipal elections in Ontario, how successful the various challenges have been, and the downsides of the various methods used
