OBA Workers' Compensation Law PROGRAM | Original Program Date: April 17, 2018

Here in Ontario we are at the peak of asbestos diseases which are mainly from occupational exposures in decades past.  Annually, this includes about 150 mesothelioma and 450 lung cancer cases, with some cases arising from non-occupational exposure such as family members being exposed to asbestos dust from work clothing. Many will have seen U.S. law firm advertisements about claims to asbestos trust funds there, particularly with mesothelioma cases.  Complex issues arise around the interface between these claims and our workplace insurance system.

Join us for a comprehensive discussion on the key issues you need to know when advising your clients on this important issue.
