Please join us on this special evening of the Charity and Not-for-Profit Law Section when we present the AMS John Hodgson Award to Jane Burke-Robertson, partner at Carters Professional Corporation.

Jane has practised extensively in charity and not-for-profit law. She is also highly experienced in dealing with membership disputes, board and membership control issues and structural considerations in national and international charitable and not-for-profit organizations.

Ms Burke-Robertson is a frequent speaker and lecturer on charitable and not-for-profit matters and has written extensively in this subject area. She is also past-president of the National CBA Charities and Not-for-Profit Law Section, and one of the founding co-chairs of the OBA Charity and Not-for-Profit Law Section.

The presentation to Ms. Burke-Robertson will be introduced by her colleague Terrance Carter.

Guest speaker, Marcel Lauzière, President and CEO of IMAGINE Canada, will speak about increased scrutiny in Canada in the charitable sector and non-profit sector. Marcel will talk about the Imagine Canada Standards Initiative, a new capacity building and accreditation program for charities and non-profits across Canada (a global first), and about the role and impact of charities and non-profits in today's society.
