Mandatory Continuing Professional Development: Current Status

The Law Society of Saskatchewan introduced a Continuing Professional Development Policy which took effect January 1, 2010.  Under the Policy, all members are required to complete twelve (12) hours of “Accredited CPD Activities” in one calendar year. At least two (2) hours of the required twelve (12) hours must pertain primarily to any one or any combination of the following topics: Professional Responsibility; Ethics; Practice Standards; The Code of Professional Conduct; Conflict of Interest; Rules of the Law Society; Client Care and Relations; and Practice Management.
