Cutting Edge Legal Departments: Creating A Loss Recovery Program To Generate Revenue And Preserve Assets

February 7, 2019
11:30 - 12:15 pm ET Lunch
12:15 - 1:45 pm ET Program

Description:

Corporate Legal Departments of public and private companies, as well as governments and other public agencies, are typically seen as costs centres. But can they be more? Should generating revenues and protecting assets be part of their mandate? Should that mandate include turning lost or forgone revenue into a bottom line benefit?

This concept has begun to flourish in the US and is starting to find a foothold in Canada. Please join this panel discussion on how a Canadian legal department can partner with outside counsel to enforce rights and generate revenue in a cost-effective way, with or without litigation, in Canada or the United States. Our panelists will identify potential areas for recovery efforts as well as business considerations when designing and implementing a program.
