Information Session: Local Access to Justice Initiative

The CBA (Alberta) Immigration Law South Section, in collaboration with various stakeholders, such as the Immigration and Refugee Board and Legal Aid Alberta, is currently working on a Local Access to Justice Initiative for unrepresented immigration detainees. Specifically, we are exploring the possibility of a Pilot Project to provide duty counsel to unrepresented detainees at Immigration Division Hearings in Calgary.

All Members of the CBA (Alberta) Immigration Law South Section who are interested in participating in the creation, implementation, and/or execution of this Pilot Project are invited to attend a brief information session on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with various government stakeholders on an important initiative!
