ON UNCONSCIOUS BIAS, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION.  WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?  WHY SHOULD WE CARE?

Talk of unconscious bias and the need for diversity and inclusion in the workplace is everywhere.  It has been driving organizational and policy changes in governmental and legal offices for some time.  But what does it all mean?  Why should your law office want to start a dialogue on unconscious bias, or implement a diversity and inclusion policy? How would you go about it?  What discussions within the Law Society may affect you and your practice?

Join us on March 9th (scheduled in recognition of International Women's Day) to find out.  Our panel will feature the professional experiences and insights of:

Lisa Tchir
Assistant Deputy Minister, Gender Policy, Strategy and Innovation Division, Alberta Status of Women Ministry
Cori Ghitter
Director, Professionalism & Policy, Law Society of Alberta; and
Gabrielle Battiste
Executive Director, Edmonton Police Commission
