Public bodies in BC receive thousands of information access requests annually under the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  When responding, public bodies often need to balance access rights against individual privacy rights and the interests of others affected by the request, all while meeting their statutory obligations.  And while the access request regime can be used in the public interest, certain parties may also use the process to inappropriately further their own interests.  Join us for an engaging panel discussion (from unique perspectives) on current access-to-information issues.
