The unfit and / or not criminally responsible accused raises myriad legal considerations that can be difficult to navigate. The panel of experts will provide practical and legal guidance to best assist and manage the unfit or not criminally responsible accused. The panel will cover this topic from the perspectives of the judiciary, the review board, defence counsel and the prosecutor. They will discuss the numerous considerations that must be dealt with when dealing with an unfit or not criminally responsible accused, from the point of arrest, to the first client interview, to the court proceedings, all the way through to the appearances before the review board.
