Our Courts, Child Protection and Legal Aid: A Solutions-Based Discussion (Recording)

A panel discussion regarding recent changes to child protection law and further anticipated changes, with consideration given to the interests of children, youth and their families and the impact on access to justice.  The panelists will discuss the response to the Court of Appeal decision in R.D. v. The Minister of Social Development, 2022 NBCA 56, anticipated changes with the commencement of the new Child and Youth Well-Being Act, and proposals for a new approach to the practice of child protection law.
