We’ll take a close look at some of the most commonly seen issues, including different types of income (e.g. employment, self-employment, social assistance, WSIB, non-taxable income), special expenses and the related tax deductions and credits, shared custody, and post-secondary education scenarios. We’ll also explore some of the more complex areas of the software, including dividends and capital gains income, RPPs, imputed income, cash flow adjustments, life insurance security, lump sum calculations, spousal support restructuring, plus more!  Plus we’ll sprinkle in some tips and tricks that will help you save time and maximize efficiency.

EMBEDDING THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD IN PRACTICE AND LEGISLATION
Mary Birdsell will be speaking to ways in which practitioners in family law matters involving children can use the CBA’s Child Rights Toolkit to better represent child clients and uphold their rights.  Christian Whalen will be speaking to pending reform of the NB Family Services Act and how to embed child rights principles and approaches into NB’s child protection models, including in ‘hear the child’ and ‘voice of the child’ processes.
