Moving Forward on Medical Assistance in Dying Across Canada

With the recent proclamation of Bill C-14, it is no longer a criminal offence for physicians or nurse practitioners to provide medical assistance in dying (MAID) to patients who meet the criteria.  The provinces and professional colleges are now grappling with regulating how, where and when MAID is provided.

This program will examine the laws governing MAID, the implementation of MAID across the country, as well as the legal and implementation challenges that lie ahead for MAID. Our speakers have a diverse range of experience in law, ethics, regulation of physicians and implementation of MAID in Canada.
