Many Canadians own or are considering acquiring real and/or personal property in Mexico. Our experienced panelist, who practises at a national firm in Mexico will discuss what you need to know to advise your clients who hold such assets.  How is title held for Mexican real estate owned by Canadians? What are the requirements and best practices to deal with such assets from estate planning and estate administration perspectives, including cross-border inheritance tax issues and possible withholdings? Panelists will also discuss key factors when dealing with the purchase, sale or financing of such assets during the client’s lifetime.
