Originally presented on May 7, 2024

A successful career in law shouldn’t come at the expense of your well-being. You can choose to have both. Join us to learn how you can thrive in law by making a few small changes to the way you work.

This webinar is part of CBA Alberta’s annual Alberta Lawyer Insight Series (ALIS).

MENTAL HEALTH WEEK 2024

CBA Alberta is proud to present this webinar during Mental Health Week. Mental Health Week was established in 1951 by the Canadian Mental Health Association. It is observed annually during the first full week of May. This year, Mental Health Week runs from May 6 to May 10, 2024. CBA Alberta encourages all legal professionals to make well-being a priority throughout the year.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Amy Binder is a lawyer and certified executive coach. She earned her law degree at Dalhousie University, her graduate degree in legal education at Osgoode Hall Law School and her Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching at Royal Roads University.

Amy runs Nudgeable Coaching & Consulting, where she partners directly with lawyers and law firms on employee engagement projects and as a leadership coach. Her areas of expertise include: lawyer training and development, employee engagement and well-being, executive coaching, and leadership development.

When working with lawyers, Amy recognizes the importance of combining theory with practice and focuses on the mutually beneficial objectives of professional performance and human flourishing. She helps lawyers find simple and practical ways to shift their behaviour and leverage their existing strengths and inclinations. Most recently, Amy put theory into practice in the context of big law, having spent over a decade in the trenches, supporting lawyers' development, progression, engagement and performance.

Amy has worked as Legal Counsel for the Alberta Court of Appeal, as Education Counsel for Alberta Justice, and as Legal Talent Director and Engagement Strategy and Culture Director for a global law firm.
