AI Contracting and Legal Risks
Presented by the CBA Alberta CBA In-House Lawyers (North) Section
Artificial intelligence is reshaping how contracts are drafted, negotiated, and managed, creating both new opportunities and new risks for in-house counsel. In this Q&A-style session, we will explore how AI is being leveraged in contracting – including applications in contract management and obligation tracking – as well as how external counsel are using AI for corporate clients and the related implications for fee arrangements. We will also highlight risks in-house counsel should keep top of mind as these tools become more widely adopted. Finally, we will provide a practical look at how AI is being applied to contract drafting and review, and how certain features are designed to help address some of the very risks discussed.
