As organizations increasingly adopt AI-powered tools and solutions, in-house counsel face a rapidly evolving risk landscape spanning privacy, cybersecurity, employment, intellectual property, and emerging AI-specific regulations across sectors. This session provides an overview of the legal and compliance considerations that in-house legal teams need to navigate when their organizations deploy or procure AI.

Our presenters will survey key developments in AI regulation and examine how existing legal requirements in areas such as privacy, human rights, and competition apply to AI implementations. We will also address the heightened scrutiny from Canadian regulators and the growing wave of AI-related litigation.

The session will conclude with practical guidance on managing AI risk through governance frameworks, vendor due diligence, contractual protections, and employment-related controls, equipping attendees with actionable strategies to advise their organizations effectively.
