Nuclear Regulation, Waste, and Jurisdiction
Presented by the CBA Alberta Environmental Law (South) Section
Join us for a focused session exploring the evolving landscape of nuclear energy regulation in Alberta. We will examine how the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission’s federal oversight interacts with provincial regulatory responsibilities, highlighting areas of alignment as well as places where the two frameworks leave important questions open. The session will also expand on nuclear waste management and the key environmental considerations that shape this area of practice. The session aims to spark discussions on timely issues that are currently engaging both provincial and federal decision-makers.
