CBA Alberta Sections

View from the Regulator

Presented by the CBA Alberta Natural Resources (South) Section & Environmental Law (South) Section

*Please note, this Section meeting is on a Tuesday rather than the usual Wednesday and is in the Devonian Room.

This Section meeting is a rare opportunity to hear three top lawyers at Alberta regulators discuss trends, challenges, and best-practices for practitioners across Alberta’s energy and power industries. The panelists will share expertise and perspectives on how regulators are thinking about today’s evolving energy landscape, including electrical power systems, energy and mineral resources, and environmental protection. Attendees from all backgrounds, including in-house, private practice, and non-profit, will gain valuable insights into the regulator mindset.

PRESENTERS

Daniel Johnson (General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Market Surveillance Administrator)
JP Mousseau (General Counsel, Alberta Utilities Commission)
Sean Sexton (Executive Vice President, Law Branch, and General Counsel, Alberta Energy Regulator)
