What Is Non-Personal Data?
Presented by the CBA Alberta Privacy & Access Law (South) Section
On Demand. Originally presented on Jan 26, 2026.
This session will explore the challenges in interpreting the new defined term “non-personal data”, as set out in the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). Rather than presenting a "correct" interpretation of non-personal data, this session will present potential interpretations of the term, and the issues surrounding each. These example interpretations will also be applied to hypothetical scenarios.
