Networking, Social Media, and Business Development 101 – An Introduction to Networking within firms, between firms, and beyond

Presented by the CBA Alberta Young Lawyers (North) Section

Networking doesn't have to feel awkward or transactional. This Practical webinar addresses the first steps to building genuine professional relationships that support long-term career growth. This session covers three essential areas that articling students and new lawyers will benefit from: effective one-on-one networking both within and outside their firm, using social media with purpose, and making the most of in-person networking events. Participants will learn how to approach conversations with confidence, build visibility without oversharing, and follow up in ways that feel authentic and professional. With clear strategies, real-world examples, and introvert-friendly tips, this session will equip attendees with simple, actionable tools they can use right away to grow a strong, authentic professional network.
