Nadia Farinelli, Crown Counsel, BC Prosecution Service
Rebecca McConchie, Defence Counsel
Time: Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 6:00pm - 7:30pm (PT)
CPD Hours: 1.50 hour
Synopsis

Join Criminal Justice - Vancouver Section for their first panel discussion of 2022! This month's panel discussion will focus on regulatory offences. We will hear from Crown and defence counsel about some riveting recent cases in this arena, some general trends, and what it looks like to defend these offences. Our three speakers bring a wealth of experience, and it promises to be an excellent event.

For our members who don't practice in the regulatory realm, don't despair; this session will be helpful to all criminal bar members, as many of the legal issues we will discuss also apply to true criminal offences.

One lucky audience member will receive a door prize for attending!

Territorial Acknowledgement
This event will be broadcast from the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam First Nations. We encourage members to explore the rich history and knowledge of Indigenous people, and to continue learning about their experience in Canada past and present.
