Presentation Description:
Wrecked: Unsettling Histories from the Graveyard of the Pacific
This compelling talk offers a provocative retelling of one of the Northwest Coast’s most iconic narratives: the long history of shipwrecks along the BC, Washington, and Oregon coasts. Drawing from several sources, Coll Thrush explores how shipwrecks reveal deeper truths about power, place, and memory. Through this lens, he opens a conversation about the fraught and unfinished histories of the region - inviting audiences to see familiar stories in profoundly new ways.

ACKNOWLEDGING FIRST NATIONS TERRITORIES
This event is hosted by the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch, located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations.
