Maryanne Prohl addresses an increasingly critical issue facing legal professionals today: how to protect themselves from cyber fraud. Maryanne explores the growing risks that lawyers face, particularly in areas like estate law and real estate, where hackers are targeting email accounts to manipulate transaction details and mislead lawyers into transferring funds to fraudsters. She also outlines essential protocols that can help prevent these costly mistakes, including the significant 35% deductible that lawyers may have to cover if they fall victim to such scams. This presentation helps us understand how to mitigate these risks and also provides valuable guidance on safeguarding against cyber fraud in the first place.
