BC Law Institute is undertaking a public consultation on proposed reforms to B.C.’s escheat law, which governs the treatment of land and personal property when personal ownership interests end.
This engagement session focuses on how the proposed reforms engage Indigenous rights, Aboriginal title, and jurisdiction, including decision-making authority over property without a personal owner and the role of Indigenous laws within a reformed framework.
This session will be offered on two dates. Participants should register for one option.
