Strong legal writing does more than communicate information; it persuades, builds credibility, and gets results.
Dr. Lisa Surridge hosts a hands-on workshop that will help you write with greater precision and impact. Whether preparing pleadings, factums, contracts, or emails, attendees discover practical techniques to make writing more effective and easier to read.
Dr. Surridge will cover how to:
- Strengthen sentences
- Present complex ideas clearly and logically
- Improve paragraph flow
- Create emphasis where it matters most
- Strengthen persuasion through context and point-first structures
Using anonymized examples, Dr. Surridge will provide actionable advice that lawyers from every practice area can immediately put into practice.

Dr. Lisa Surridge (B.A. Queen’s, M.A., Ph.D. University of Toronto) is an expert on effective legal communication. She teaches workshops on written and oral communication skills to lawyers, judges, and crown counsel from across Canada.
