Bring a Buddy Months - In April and May 2021 consider bringing a non-member buddy to a Section Meeting. Sections provide opportunities for lawyers to further their professional education and to keep ahead of current developments within the profession. The MBA wants to show non-members what they're missing!!

DATE: Monday, April 19, 2021
Time:  12:00 Noon – 1:30pm
Location: On-Line – Zoom Video Conference
TOPIC: Construction Deficiencies and Limitation Periods
SPEAKERS:
Jon Woolley, Thompson Dorfman Sweatman LLP
Michael Weinstein, MLT Aikins LLP

This session is being presented jointly by the Civil Litigation Section and the Construction & Infrastructure Law Section of the MBA.  In matters involving construction, it is not uncommon for deficiencies giving rise to causes of action to occur over a period of time.  When does a cause of action crystallize?  When is it too late to bring a lawsuit for damages?  What can lawyers expect in this context if the new Limitation of Actions Act comes into force?

Please RSVP (PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED) to the Manitoba Bar Association online (link above).

You will need a computer or laptop (PC or Mac), smartphone or tablet with a microphone and webcam (built-in or external) and an internet connection.
