The CBA Competition Law Section's Mergers Committee and Young Lawyers Committee present:

Not This Again: Pet Peeves and Pitfalls from Both Sides of a Merger Review

February 19, 2020 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Teleconference

Effective advocacy and good investigative practices in merger review makes life easier for folks on both sides of the proverbial Ottawa River. But it can sometimes be hard to see across the divide and appreciate that some arguments are never persuasive and some questions can never be answered. This panel will provide perspective from private practitioners and officers and explore what works in an ARC request or an RFI – and what doesn’t – to generate some practical tips to help make Canadian merger review as smooth as possible for everyone.

Moderator
Ryan Caron, Legal Counsel, Department of Justice, Competition Bureau Legal Services

Speakers
Gina Demczuk, Competition Law Officer, Competition Bureau, Mergers and Monopolistic Practices
Kate McNeece, Associate, McCarthy Tétrault LLP
