Authentication in Practice: Navigating the Digital Fake

The digital world is overrun with misleading information. Many will try and manipulate you and your clients for clicks, for dollars, for political expediency and more. This session will provide you with an overview of legal issues to be aware of in the age of digital fakery.  In addition, this session will give you the ability to spot the warning signs of digital fakery and arm you with tools to verify or disprove the information you and your clients are confronted with.

We will take an in-depth look at:

• Implications of deep fakes and potential legal issues related thereto
• Targeted spear-phishing and phishing campaigns
• Challenges for lawyers and judges – examples of evidence tampering
