Competition Compliance in the Digital World: Algorithms, AI and Emerging Technologies

The CBA Competition Law Section's Corporate Counsel and Compliance Committee presents:

Competition Compliance in the Digital World: Algorithms, AI and Emerging Technologies

February 3, 2022 | 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)

Companies are increasingly using emerging technologies to gain a competitive advantage over speed, knowledge and strategy. There is however a danger that the use of emerging tech can raise competition law risks. For example, algorithms may give rise to collusive or otherwise anti-competitive behaviour, even if they interact without human interference. Using real world examples, the panel will discuss risks related to price and non-price technology from academic, legal and operational perspectives. The panel will also explore the intersection of competition law compliance risks with other fields, such as privacy and IP. Finally, the panel will explore how businesses can mitigate their risks by leveraging emerging tech.
