Update from Fires: Behind the Scenes Insights

In this session, the Foreign Investment Review and Economic Security (FIRES) Branch will share lessons learned during the first year following the recent amendments to the Investment Canada Act’s national security review provisions. FIRES will also provide a behind-the-scene overview of its process of compiling and analyzing information and briefing the Minister —both for national security and net benefit reviews. This update will provide practical insights and tips on anticipating issues, sharpening submissions, and streamlining engagement with FIRES in a national security review. Q&A to follow.
