The Corporate Counsel & Compliance and Criminal Matters Committees of the CBA Competition Law and Foreign Investment Review Section presents:

Friendly Chats, Risky Business: Navigating the Information Exchange Minefield

March 4th, 2026 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)

Join us for a discussion on the increasingly high-stakes world of information exchange under Canada’s newly amended competition laws. While industry collaborations can often drive innovation, allow for resource pooling and create new opportunities for participants and consumers, sharing the “wrong” data or running an exchange in the “wrong” way can trigger severe legal consequences. This session provides a practical roadmap for compliance, covering everything from algorithmic pricing risks to the latest guidance from the Competition Bureau.

Moderator:

Daniel Stern: Associate General Counsel, TELUS

Panelists:

Daniel Jensen: Major Case Director in the Monopolistic Practices Directorate of the Competition Bureau

Mark Katz: Senior Counsel in the Competition, Antitrust and Foreign Investment group at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP

Janet Bolton: counsel with the Canadian Bankers Association

Julie Soloway: Co-Chair of the Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP
