Civility in the courtroom is often viewed as a matter of professional courtesy—but it may also be closely tied to professional well-being.
This program brings together voices from both the bench and the bar to explore how incivility shows up in courtrooms and the wider impact it can have across the legal profession. Through an open and thoughtful discussion, this Well-Being Hour session examines what we really mean by “incivility,” from clear-cut conflicts to more subtle behaviours—such as interruptions, dismissive responses, and tone—that influence the courtroom atmosphere.
Designed for lawyers, judges, and legal professionals, this engaging session encourages a fresh perspective on civility—not just as a standard of conduct, but as an essential element in fostering a respectful, healthy, and resilient justice system.
