The presentation will discuss the recent Nova Scotia Court of Appeal decision of Rakeem Rayshon Anderson which discusses factors to consider with respect to sentencing of African Nova Scotians and the use of cultural assessments in sentencing.  The presentation will also include sentencing principles for indigenous people.
