Mr. Christian Whalen, Deputy Ombud and General Counsel with the Office of the Ombud, will provide an overview of the jurisprudential developments in privacy protection in Canada this year and will discuss the current legislative amendments and resolutions of the Canadian Privacy Commissioners with a view to better protecting the privacy of children, improving the transparency of Canadian public institutions and strengthening Canadian legislative protections in relation to the development of generative artificial intelligence technologies.
