Estate Litigation Unpacked: Executors, Blended Families, and Cross-Jurisdictional Challenges

With the greatest transfer of wealth currently occurring, the increase in blended families and properties in multiple jurisdictions becoming more common, estate litigation is on the rise across Canada. This presentation will cover topics such as the duties and responsibilities of executors, testamentary capacity, undue influence, claims against estates such as marital property and dependants’ applications, interpretations and drafting of wills, and a lawyer’s responsibility in these matters. We will also review the recent cases on these matters.
