According to American studies, slightly more than half of the population will one day be exposed to trauma, but only 7-12% of them will develop a psychological disorder called post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (Kessler, 2000).
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the symptoms of PTSD and the psychological treatments available to people suffering from this disorder. A part of this discussion will be devoted to going in depth about one of the most effective treatments for PTSD.
