RECORDING
HST issues in business and real estate transactions are often complex and costly if misunderstood. This session will explore the HST implications of common transactions in New Brunswick, including real property deals, income tax-driven reorganizations and business acquisitions. The panel will explain what makes a supply taxable, exempt or zero-rated (and why the distinction matters); when input tax credits are available; and how certain elections can reduce or eliminate HST payable. Attendees will gain practical tools to better spot HST risks, structure transactions effectively and advise clients with confidence.
